CGTMSE (Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro & Small Enterprises)

Collateral-free bank loan guarantee cover up to ₹10 Crore (increased from ₹5 Cr w.e.f. 1 Apr 2025).

Overview & Objectives

CGTMSE provides institutional credit guarantee to Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) for extending collateral-free term loans and working capital to MSEs. Effective 1 April 2025 (Circular No. 250/2024-25 dated 18 March 2025), the maximum guarantee cover ceiling was raised from ₹5 Crore to ₹10 Crore.

Financial Benefit Structure

Up to ₹10 Crore guarantee cover (75% to 85% (up to 85% for Women/SC/ST/Micro/ZED units) for loans up to ₹10 Crore)
75% to 85% (up to 85% for Women/SC/ST/Micro/ZED units)

Eligibility Criteria

New and existing Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). The borrower approaches an MLI (bank/NBFC) which applies to CGTMSE for guarantee coverage.

Required Documents Checklist

  • Udyam Registration Certificate
  • Detailed Project Report (DPR) with cash-flow projections
  • ITR & Audited Balance Sheets for past 3 years (for existing units)
  • KYC documents of Promoters
  • Bank loan application through CGTMSE-registered MLI
