Overview & Objectives

PMEGP is a major credit-linked capital subsidy scheme implemented by KVIC. Subsidies range from 15% to 35% of total project cost (urban general 15%, rural general 25%, urban special 25%, rural special 35%). Project cost ceilings are ₹50 Lakh for manufacturing and ₹20 Lakh for service/business units.

Financial Benefit Structure

15% – 35% Subsidy (Cap: ₹17.5 Lakh)
15%–35% margin money subsidy. Max subsidy ₹17.5L (mfg) / ₹7L (service). 2nd upgrade loan up to ₹1 Cr.

Eligibility Criteria

Individuals aged 18+ for new greenfield projects. VIII pass mandatory for projects above ₹10L (mfg) or ₹5L (service). General category equity: 10%; Special category equity: 5%.
